TES delivered three 8,2 MVA generators for Umutlu Project

20.5.2016

The Umutlu belongs to the biggest small hydro power plant projects in Turkey. The HPP is located along the Yesilirmak River in the district of Taşova, Amasya Province, Turkey. Once this project is put into operation it will provide electric energy for 23,000 households.

The powerhouse at Umutlu contains 3 vertical synchronous generators. Each machine has 20 salient poles, capacity 8,200 kVA, voltage 6,300 V, frequency 50 Hz, rated speed 300 rpm, over-speed capacity 720 rpm and cooling IC 86W. The generators are equipped with brushless self-excitation system, automatic voltage regulators and special supervisory and protective devices to meet client’s requirements. The tests were conducted at TES VSETIN’s high voltage test field and included gradual heat run tests, over-speed test run at 720 rpm for one hour and transient speed run test for 5 minutes.
